Previous Nic Autostraddle From the animation style to the social media references to the very casual queerness, these writers make sure we know that we're not in 2001 anymore. And it mostly works! Feb 28, 2022 Full Review Michael Cuby them. Gay dads? A gender nonconforming fashionista? All voiced by queer actors? I’m obsessed. Sep 26, 2022 Full Review Stephanie Snyder Common Sense Media Louder and Prouder will provoke heartwarming nostalgia for parents who grew up on Penny Proud and her friends and family, while inspiring a new generation with life lessons sprinkled with hilarity. 4/5 Mar 4, 2022 Full Review Peter Martin EverythingButHorror.com Certainly should stand out, as much as anything for bringing back a proud African-American family that has two happy parents, on equal (or greater) financial standing with any animated family on Disney Plus. Feb 25, 2022 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Even if you didn’t see The Proud Family the first time around, you’ll enjoy The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder. It’s a funny family sitcom with well-drawn (and written!) characters. Feb 24, 2022 Full Review Taylor Lyles IGN Movies While it is too early to tell whether or not it truly lives up to the legacy of the original series, the two-episode premiere largely signals that Louder and Prouder is on its way to becoming a revival series done right. 7/10 Feb 22, 2022 Full ReviewNext

Previous ana luisa u Es buen reboot es mejor que la original y buena animación y personajes carismáticos y chistes de doble sentido buen hechos y la intro me encanta un 8.9 de 10 Rated 4.5/5 StarsRated 4.5 out of 5 stars•11/27/23 Full Review Stout B Stereotypical, reverse racism, and some really dumb entitled characters. Everything woke but not funny, Rated 0.5/5 StarsRated 0.5 out of 5 stars•08/28/23 Full Review Jai B Absolute racist trash. Who comes up with this garbage?? Rated 1/5 StarsRated 1 out of 5 stars•08/28/23 Full Review Hannah H Terrible for growing kids. Too many sexual jokes and scenes for a kids show. A guy in a diaper tweaking? Really? First scene she grabs her own breasts and looks at how big her butt got with excitement. The way they talk im not even going to get into. Stereotypes out the wazoo. Scene where some kids try to rob some other kids. Kids shouldn't see this. Kids are able to watch this on that Disney app and it's insane knowing that they did this. But seriously that scene with the rapper is horrible. He's on a stage in a room full of kids for a dance and he's wearing baby attire. A diaper and other baby wear. It zooms in on him as he shakes his butt up and down in front of the children. I know that some of the people who made this missed the old show and wanted to "make it better" but they need to remember that when it's remade it is not for them or other older fans. It is for the children of today. We must represent well for them. We must be better. Rated 0.5/5 StarsRated 0.5 out of 5 stars•08/23/23 Full Review Henrique S Deviates massively from the fun and good nature of the first season. Now it just caters to "progressives" and basketball people that are angry. Going to go back to the first season. Cheers Rated 0.5/5 StarsRated 0.5 out of 5 stars•08/11/23 Full Review Xavier A It's just plain and simple the most incessant complaining I've ever seen. The creators of this show and anyone who feels this way should live in Canada where they can blindly follow socialist politicians who keep blacks and other minorities as economic hostages as they follow empty promises, instead of taking for responsibility for their own communities, although BLM already beat that horse dead. Black neighborhoods are arguably worse than they've ever been in my lifetime (which admittedly isn't super long). And the characters/writing in this show only compound the issue. Penny is the show's 14 (later 16) year-old female protagonist who is usually embarrassed by the way her father, Oscar Proud, acts. She is a normal teenager who is trying to have the life that she dreams for, despite her parents forbidding her to go on dates with boys.
Co-creator Bruce W. Smith explains in a TVLine article about Sticky's departure, "For us, expanding the world sometimes means you lose characters, but you also gain more characters that help grow the show in a direction we feel is necessary for this new version.”
In 1998, she and her best friend Dijonay Jones would start their 6th grade year at Willy T. Ribbs Middle School where they would meet Sticky Webb, a neighborhood child with a brilliant mind; and girl scout Zoey Howzer, who was new to the area at the time and desperately looking for a place to fit in.
The series, created by Bruce W. Smith, centers around Penny Proud, a 14-year-old African-American girl, and her family. The series was popular because it was one of the few animated series at the time that centered around Black characters, and it included important messages about cultural diversity.
Myron (voiced by Marcus T. Paulk, Jaden Smith as an adult in "When You Wish Upon a Roker"): A nerdy kid that has a crush on Penny. He later has a crush on Zoey, who reciprocates his feelings.
Trivia. It is implied that Sticky has a crush on Penny. Sticky's similar to Cornelius Fillmore from Fillmore! and Eddie Thomas from That's So Raven, all of whom are portrayed by Orlando Brown. All three of them are the African-American male best friends to the show's female lead.
LaCienega appears to be very conceited, but deep down, she's sensitive, unsure, and a bit jealous of Penny because she's a grounded individual. Penny is usually stuck with her and they consistently fight one another.
After arriving at the Proud house, Penny assumes that Fifteen wants to kiss her and confronts him about his exploits featured in Dreamy Teen Magazine. He assures her that the tabloid was printing lies, and Penny kisses him. However, when Oscar Proud, Penny's overprotective father, finds them kissing, he gets upset.
LaCienega Boulevardez (voiced by Alisa Reyes) is Penny's Hispanic-American frenemy and the daughter of Felix and Sunset Boulevardez. She is the most popular and beautiful girl in Penny's school, as well as an excellent student and a talented swimmer.
BeBe is a boy with an Afro (his eyes are never seen, possibly brown or hazel). He always has a baby bottle in his mouth and wears a orange shirt, while CeCe is a girl with brown hair and a pink dress with pigtails. BeBe is the older (aged before on time) twin.
'The Proud Family' co-creator Bruce W. Smith told TVLine that Sticky left because of the show's plan to broaden the show's universe. “We always wanted to expand out the world.
She drags her feet to the bathroom, and as she looks in the mirror, we're introduced to a taller, curvier Penny Proud. Although she is still 14 years old, the same age she was in the original series, this new version of Penny seems older, more self assured, and more "Gen Z."
The Gross family is entirely blue, including their clothes, excluding Mrs. Gross in the latter case; she is Jamaican, wears an orange floral outfit, and has her hair in dreadlocks with a hairclip. The reason for the Gross clan's blue skin is because they cannot afford lotion, and work in the hot sun all day.
