Creating your own wedding invitations allows you to put a personal spin on your invites at a fraction of the cost of buying them yourself! My “Laser Cut” Filigree Wedding Invitations are beautiful, but why is “Laser Cut” in quotes? Because these aren’t laser cut at all — they just look like they are! Q: Can you make wedding cards with Cricut?
A: You can make all kinds of DIY projects for wedding cards and wedding gifts this season with a Cricut cutting machine! I have easy card tutorials, all the way up to more complex vinyl and sublimation projects for experienced crafters. Crafting with a Cricut is easy when you follow my simple step-by-step tutorials.
Q: Can you show me how to make a wedding card easy?
A: I sure can! Just click on each link above to find that project’s tutorial. Follow my easy steps and you’ll be making a wedding card in no time.
Q: Is the Cricut Joy good for wedding DIY?
A: You can make all types of projects for weddings with a Cricut Joy! Most of these cards can be sized to fit a Cricut Joy or Joy Xtra, and you can use one make other projects like name cards, save-the-dates, and RSVP cards easily and on-the-go.
Q: What materials do you need to make cards with Cricut?
A: While there are a variety of materials you can use to make Cricut cards, the most important, main ingredient is high-quality cardstock. Specifically, 65 pound, solid-core cardstock is my favorite, but you can use any kind you like — like glitter, shimmer, foil, patterned, textured, and more. There’s a lot you can do with some paper, but you can make magic when you add some glue, adhesive dots, or even a foil transfer kit, debossing tip, and more.
Q: Is it worth it to DIY wedding invitations?
A: Whether using a done-for-you template or using your own design for your invitation cards, I think it can absolutely be worth it to make your own. Depending on the materials you choose, you can make less expensive, more personalized Cricut wedding invitations than anything you can purchase from a stationary company. If you have the time, DIY wedding projects are a great way to save money!
Q: What size should a wedding card be?
A: Wedding cards are typically around 5″ x 7″, but there are no rules about how big (or small) you can go! The size you choose is ultimately up to you. Just make sure your machine can handle the cuts and material sizes you want to use, and be sure to make or choose the right size envelope.
Q: What should not be included in a wedding invitation?
A: There are a few rules of thumb to consider when creating and sending your wedding invites:
DO:
- Make sure you send your invitations at least 3-4 months before the wedding
- Make an organized guest list before making your invitations
- Address wedding invitation envelopes by hand — or use your Cricut to write them!
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
DON’T:
- Don’t forget to include directions, maps, parking, and hotel info for out-of-town guests
- Don’t include registry or gift information
- Don’t forget to include RSVP information, or an RSVP card
